USHBC Announces New VP of Global Marketing and Communications

The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC) and the North American Blueberry Council (NABC) have selected Kevin Hamilton as their new VP of Global Marketing and Communications. In this role, Hamilton will oversee global brand marketing, consumer public relations, digital media, media and creativity and innovation to drive blueberry growth and profitability. 

Capitol Hill Celebrates National Blueberry Month

The North American Blueberry Council (NABC) released a statement recapping the National Blueberry Month events that occurred in the nation’s capital throughout July. Blueberries are grown in 48 states on 13,000 farms, support nearly 45,000 jobs, and have $4.7 billion in economic impact. They are also packed with nutrition, with fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, manganese, and potassium in every handful.

Dan Newhouse (R-Wash.), Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), David Valadao (R-Calif.), John Duarte (R-Calif.), Mike Simpson (R-Idaho), Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.), Salud Carbajal (D-Calif.), Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), and Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.).

North American Blueberry Council Applauds Congressional Action on Japan’s Frozen Blueberry Tariffs

A bipartisan group of lawmakers led by Reps. Rick Larsen (D-WA-02) and David Valadao (R-CA-22), and Sen. Angus King (I-ME), is calling on the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture  (USDA) to work with their Japanese counterparts to ensure equal market access for U.S. blueberry growers by eliminating  harmful frozen blueberry tariffs.
