International Fresh Produce Association Takes the Lead on Fresh Produce and Floral

January 2022 marks the start of the new International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA), the global trade association representing the entire fresh produce and floral supply chains. The association is the largest industry association representing the interests, individuals and organizations across the global supply chain, of all sizes and specialties.

PMA Advancing Efforts in PLU Innovations

Produce Marketing Association (PMA) has announced a breadth of efforts to advance innovation and industry involvement with regulators on PLU stickers.  This follows the decision for many countries across Europe to pass regulations that ban non-home compostable PLU stickers, the only effective way to enable retailers to provide bulk produce to consumers.   

PMA and CGT Recognize Industry Leaders With Annual Awards of Excellence

During the “Recognizing the Best Part of PMA” Virtual Town Hall held on October 27, 2021, Produce Marketing Association and Center for Growing Talent announced and honored the winners of the suite of awards recognizing excellence across the industry. The awards recognize work of industry volunteers across the industry who transform, innovate, collaborate, and lead all those they encounter towards growing a healthier world. 

PMA and United Fresh to Announce New Association Live

Chief executives representing the new association being formed by the Produce Marketing Association and United Fresh Produce Association, Cathy Burns and Tom Stenzel, will share an important update about the new organization on October 28, 2021. The announcement, which will be broadcast live, will include members of the new group’s Executive Committee. Industry media members are welcome for a live press conference following the update. 

Melanny Gomez Cruz’s New Found Glow from PMA’s Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference

The Center for Growing Talent by the Produce Marketing Association, in partnership with Frieda’s Specialty Produce owners, Karen Caplan and Jackie Caplan Wiggins, awarded the winner of the Frieda Rapoport Caplan Women’s Fresh Perspectives Scholarship to Melanny Gomez Cruz of Four Seasons Produce, Inc. Cruz was selected by an independent panel of industry members and was one of more than 20 applicants.
