Secretary Perdue Statement on Beef Processing Facility in Holcomb, Kansas

“As part of our continued efforts to monitor the impact of the fire at the beef processing facility in Holcomb, Kan., I have directed USDA’s Packers and Stockyards Division to launch an investigation into recent beef pricing margins to determine if there is any evidence of price manipulation, collusion, restrictions of competition or other unfair practices.”

Secretary Of Agriculture Perdue Visits California Avocado Grove

United States Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue toured a California avocado grove on July 15, accompanied by California Avocado Commission (CAC) Chairman John Lamb, CAC President Tom Bellamore and other representatives of the Commission. The grove tour, which took place at Rancho Guejito Avocado Farm in Escondido, was conducted by grower Al Stehly.
