When Mike Leck and Jennifer Nelson learned the land they’d been renting at Northfield, Minn., was going to be sold, they needed to move their sustainable farming operation. They first looked for property around that vicinity, but it was price-prohibitive. So they shifted their focus a bit east — to Wisconsin, a state with which Leck especially was already familiar. Their enterprise will primarily sell cut flowers, Nelson said. Their customers will be the wholesale market as well as individuals.
