Chuy’s Bakery has leased 4,800 square feet in South Austin for the company's second store.
Founded by Jesus “Chuy” Guevara, the Mexican-style bakery serves a large selection of breads, Mexican pan dulces, galletas, tortas, breakfast tacos and several flavors of gelato. The new store is in the Century South Shopping Center at 801 W. William Cannon Drive near the HEB at South First Street.
Chuy's joins Academy Sports & Outdoors, Gold’s Gym, Mr. Gatti’s, Melrose and others in the Century Center managed by Cencor Realty Services. Gabriel Sanchez with the commercial retail division of The Weitzman Group handled negotiations for the bakery. Travis Watkins, Russel Louis and Andrew Scroggie with The Weitzman Group handled negotiations for the shopping center. Weitzman is the center's exclusive leasing agent.
