As Cordova fishermen lined up dockside to deliver this week to local processor Prime Select Seafoods, Ross Swanes plucked a Copper River King out of a fish tote to admire it.
"This is the first time I've been here on the dock watching Copper River deliveries come in," said Swanes. "It's really exciting."
After 20 years of buying from Prime Select, Swanes was here this week to represent his family's company, Northern Fish, as the new owners of Prime Select. According to Prime Select founders Jeff Bailey and Sue Laird, it's a perfect fit.
"Northern Fish has been an excellent customer for years," said Sue Laird. "It's cool that the family has been in the fish business for over 100 years. They are great to work with and they will be a good fit for the town."
