A couple 2015 salmon forecasts were released today, and they are big. The Bristol Bay forecast is for a total return of nearly 54 million sockeye, enough to meet all escapement goals and provide for a commercial harvest of more than 40 million fish. According to ADFG, "this prediction is 40% greater than the previous 10-year mean of total runs and 51% greater than the long-term mean of 32.43 million."
