Food Lion has finished fixing up its 71 stores in the Richmond region and hopes those renovations will give it an edge with customers in Richmond’s crowded and competitive grocery market.
Signage, flooring and checkout counters are upgraded. Fourteen of the 71 stores have new walk-in produce coolers.
New products include more “grab and go” prepared foods and deli meat and cheeses already weighed and packaged and more organic products.
