Delayed Suzy's Cheesecake Factory Could Proceed

The delayed plan by Suzy's Cream Cheesecakes Inc. to build an $8 million facility in Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley could soon proceed with a dispute among the company's owners being settled.

Suzy's announced last August it would move from 1775 E. Bolivar Ave., St. Francis, to a larger building in the valley.

But Alexander Costigan, a silent partner in Suzy's, in October sued company founders Susan and Mark Strothmann.

In the lawsuit, Costigan claimed the Strothmanns agreed in August to sell him 46% of the company's stock. That agreement was reached after Costigan agreed to guarantee much of the financing for the company's move to Milwaukee, said his lawyer, Chris Banaszak.
