On May 14th, Tops opened to the public in a reimagined Depot Plaza, which for years has been in decline. Though the plaza work is not finished, the sleek look of the place is in marked contrast to the old Depot. And it is in even more marked contrast to Irondequoit's stalled Medley Centre. "This store is a prototype for the new Tops stores," company spokesperson Katie McKenna said. For several years, the company has been in a growth spurt in Monroe County, with a new store in Henrietta and a rehabbed store in Brighton opening in the past year along with the Irondequoit market.
