A "significant" number of jobs have been cut at Dean Foods Co. 's Dallas headquarters, the Dallas Morning News reported.
Dean is the nation’s largest dairy producer, and the newspaper reported that the job cuts are part of the company's promise to investors to trim costs.
The job cuts largely came from the support team for Dean's Fresh Dairy Direct unit that produces fluid milk, the Morning News reported. The specific number of jobs eliminated was not released, but the company said they would be included in an upcoming 10-Q filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
