Nantucket Butter Co. Signs Al Greer As SVP National Sales & Retail Strategy

NANTUCKET, Mass. — Nantucket Butter Company, creators of compound gourmet butters today announced that Albert Greer  has joined the company as Senior Vice President / National Sales and Retail Strategy.

Al Greer  has over 30 years of food industry experience.  Al studied business at the University of Rhode Island with a concentration in management and marketing.  Al has grown up in the food business, involved with the roll out of key brands, such as: Cape Cod Potato Chip Company, Wise Potato Chips, SmartFood Popcorn, On The Border Tortilla Chips and Annie's Homegrown.  Al is the 3rd generation of the Greer family that has maintained long term business relationships with many key retailers, such as:  Ahold, USA (parent of Stop&Shop, Giant of Landover, Giant of Carlisle), Delhaize America (parent of Hannaford Bros ., Food Lion, Sweet Bay), Whole Foods, Super Valu (parent of Shaw's Supermarkets, Albertson's, Acme), Wakefern/Shoprite Supermarkets, Wegman's Supermarkets, Price Chopper.  Mr. Greer was President/CEO of the George Greer Co. representing both Wise Foods, Inc. and Cape Cod Potato Chip Co.  Most recently he held the position of V.P. of Operations for Snyder's-Lance, Inc., with annual volume of $1.6 billion dollars.  In addition to the Supermarket channel of trade, Al has long term sales relationships with Mass/Warehouse (such as BJ's Wholesale, Target, WalMart), and Mass Drug (such as CVS, Walgreens).  Additionally, Al fully understands all channels of distributions including: Direct Sales, Broker Sales, Wholesale Distribution and DSD (Direct Store Distribution).
