Shatto Milk Co., the family farm whose fresh dairy products have cultivated a following in Kansas City, now is trying a stronger hand in the cheese business.
The Osborn, Mo., company in recent years has molded a niche, delivering its award-winning, no-growth-hormone milk in glass bottles and multiple flavors.
Shatto Milk has dabbled in various cheese products but wants to be a more regular provider without detracting from its milk business, said Barb Shatto, who over the phone comes across as warm and enthusiastic. Local consumers will start to see more of it as the holiday season approaches.
