Shatto Milk Company Partners with Children’s Mercy to Raise Money and Awareness One Bottle at a Time

Osborn, Mo. – To highlight one of the many wonderful things Children’s Mercy offers its patients, Shatto Milk Company will be offering a special limited edition LOVE bottle full of Marshmallow Cereal Milk (voted on by Children’s Mercy kiddos).

Shatto’s Marshmallow Cereal Milk will be released to the public on October 19th at their annual Family Day at the Farm.  The milk will be made available to stores starting on the 21st and to Shatto Home Delivery Customers starting on the 22nd.  There will be 12,500 of these limited bottles available while supplies last.  The product will be first come first serve with an allocation set and provided to all stores that order the product.

Shatto Milk Company is also offering fun unique drinking glasses and t-shirts sporting the fun Love Cow to raise additional funds for the cause.  These items can be purchased at the farm store, via Shatto Home Delivery and online at www.shatto.bigcartel.com

Since the start of 2019 Children’s Mercy and the Shatto’s have been working to determine the best way to raise awareness about, and money for, the Child Life Team and Children’s Mercy.  “After experiencing the amazing service this teams offers firsthand with one of our boys, we felt as if this wonderful group deserved some public kudos”, said Matt Shatto, Vice President Shatto Milk Company.

Scribe, Children’s Mercy’s Resident Artist, worked to create the first bottle design on a Shatto bottle not sporting the iconic large word on the front.  This design illustrates the partnership very well, sporting a fun bovine spreading LOVE with the Children’s Mercy logo front and center.  The unique verbiage on the back was a group effort, focused on maintaining Shatto’s fun creative voice, while telling the story of a program that helps calm little minds as they go through struggles that we all wish they were not faced with.  Once the bottle was complete, the Shatto boys (Liam, Alexander and Oliver) along with a group of Children’s Mercy kids, tasted nine potential flavors of milk for an hour, to select the milk flavor that would be the highlight of this limited release.

“With three boys we spend more time at Children’s Mercy than we would like to admit, however during a visit earlier in the year my son, who needed an MRI, was uncertain and a bit scared about what that meant and if it would hurt.  A very nice person from the Child Life team came to his room prior to the procedure and walked him through the procedure.  She used pictures and a video to explain step by step what the machine would be doing, what it would look like and how it would sound.  This kind person put my son’s mind at ease.  It calmed him and it allowed him to focus on positives like the movie he could watch, vs. the negative thoughts around a scary place, a loud machine, a cold room or even potential pain.” Said Matt Shatto.

“The Child Life team helped my son deal with anxiety and fright, which calmed him, and in turn created peace in me as a parent.  We wanted to do something to raise awareness about this program and ensure that people around the community learn more about this amazing team and consider this team when making a gift to Children’s Mercy.  We are excited to donate a percentage of sales from this limited release product to benefit the Child Life Team at Children’s Mercy.”
