Shatto Milk Company Wins 2nd Place At ACS For Their Garlic Butter

The 2017 American Cheese Society Competition took place on July 28th in Denver, CO.  The competition was a record breaking event with more than 2,000 entries from more than 280 entrants.  More than 100 categories were open and judged by 25 aesthetic and 25 technical judges.

Shatto Milk Company was awarded 2nd place in the “Butter with flavor added – all milk category” – for their Garlic Butter.  The Shatto’s entered this same product in 2012, and at that time was awarded 3rd place in a similar category.  “We are humbled by this great award as it is a testament to the hard work of our team and the great quality milk produced by our bovines.” Said Barbara Shatto

Shatto Milk Company not only offers its award winning Garlic Butter, but also salted, unsalted, and honey butters in addition to ice cream, ice cream sammiches and all of their award winning milk products.  Shatto Milk Company will be looking to expand their presence in the 2018 competition as they will be finishing a new state of the art cheese cave for their award winning aged cheeses later this year.

“Good products come from good milk, and we are so fortunate to have wonderful cows.  They deserve so much of the credit. Said Barbara Shatto”  Shatto Milk Company has received both national and international accolades for their milk, cheese and butter products.  They seem to be posed to expand on those recognitions by their additional investment into their cheese plant.

The American Cheese Society (ACS) is the leading organization supporting the understanding, appreciation, and promotion of farmstead, artisan and specialty cheeses and butters produced in the Americas.  Since its founding in 1983, ACS proudly hosts North America’s foremost annual educational conference and world-renowned cheese and butter judging competition.
