Sohha Greek Yogurt Launches In NYC

Brooklyn, NY – Sohha Greek Yogurt launches this evening in New York City. Yogurt lovers can now appreciate that yogurt doesn’t have to be sweet. Sohha Greek Yogurt will be available in farmer’s markets and soon will announce direct delivery.

Angela and John Fout, founders of Sohha Greek Yogurt, are pleased to announce the launch of Sohha Greek Yogurt June 14th in Brooklyn. The company was created with two main goals in mind: a yogurt both delicious yet nutritious and a yogurt sourced locally. Sohha is made fresh in small, handcrafted batches in Sunset Park, Brooklyn and sources its milk from Hudson Valley Fresh, a premium milk cooperative based in Poughkeepsie, NY.

“We founded Sohha Greek Yogurt after feeling the frustration of shopping for solid food for our infant daughter, Savana, and finding options mostly full of chemicals, preservatives, and tons of added sugars. We are excited to offer consumers—parents in particular—a nutrient rich product that offers everyone a convenient way to eat a meal as I did growing up in the Mediterranean,” said Angela Fout.

Sohha Greek Yogurt’s signature feature is being savory; yogurt doesn’t have to be sweet. The yogurt contains three simple ingredients: milk, cultures, and a pinch of real sea salt. Importantly, Sohha will sell a range of toppings with ethnic spices, extra virgin olive oil, nuts, and vegetables. For example, the company will have everything bagel, za’atar bliss (za’atar and EVOO), harissa hot salsa (tomatoes, coriander, onions and harissa infused EVOO), or beets melody (beets, walnuts, and EVOO).

Sohha Greek Yogurt (http://www.sohhayogurt.com) is available for purchase only in farmer’s markets around New York City: Down to Earth markets in Morningside Park, Manhattan and Park Slope, Brooklyn, New Amsterdam market in Fulton Street Fish market, the new Long Island City Flea Food market, and the Bushwick farmer’s market. Soon, Sohha will announce several partners to deliver direct to consumers in both Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Sohha Greek Yogurt had notable successes prior to launch in business plan competitions. The company won the Slow Money and Food Book Fair entrepreneur’s pitch competition. It took second place in the CUNY IVE SmartPitch competition, which was sponsored by IBM, Baruch College, Rockethub, et al. Sohha placed third in the CUNY Entrepreneur’s Concept Competition and was a finalist in the New York State Business Plan competition.

Sohha Greek Yogurt plans to hold a launch party this evening to celebrate. Interested parties should contact John Fout about the time and the location. Sohha will have its amazing yogurt on display—and for consumption—to demonstrate the delicious flavor and toppings that will be available. Sohha is a savory yogurt, just as it’s eaten in the Mediterranean.
