Trader Joe’s Launches Organic Cheesy Vegan Queso Dip

Affordable grocery store chain Trader Joe’s has added yet another new vegan option to its shelves: a cashew-based “fiesta” queso dip.

The traditional Mexican dip is a soft, unaged cheese made from cow’s milk. Trader Joe’s new product is completely dairy-free, relying on organic cashews, a common plant-based cheese substitute, to create a creamy texture. It also contains carrots, onions, potatoes, green chile peppers, and spices.

The new soy-free cheese dip joins Trader Joe’s growing selection of plant-based products. In November, just in time for the holiday season, it launched a new affordable vegan cocoa and peppermint-flavored coffee creamer. Online lifestyle magazine Purewow said of the new release, “[It’s] sure to blow any overpriced peppermint mocha latte nonsense out of the water (while saving your wallet in the process). Tis the season to be vegan.”
