Wisconsin's Grassland Dairy Continues Aggressive Growth

GREENWOOD — Grassland Dairy Products Inc., between Greenwood and Loyal near the intersection of state highways 73 and 98, continues to expand to meet the needs of a market hungry for its wide range of foods.

The company continues to solidify its position as one of the most advanced butter producers in the world. Three huge churns run 24 hours a day to produce an amazing 70,000 pounds of butter an hour.

Grassland lists 54 different types and quantities of butter on its product list, including quarters, solids, sealed cups, redis, chips, patties, clarified, whipped cups, tubs, specialty and bulk blend.

Powdered products consist of buttermilk, non-fat dry milk, protein concentrate, and milk permeate/dairy solids. Cheese products include process, cheddar, Colby, Italian, Monterrey Jack and Swiss. Grassland packages products under about 100 different labels.
