WARWICK, R.I. — A supermarket deli has closed temporarily because of concerns over listeria.
The state health department says the Stop & Shop on Quaker Lane in Warwick is issuing a consumer alert regarding deli sliced meat and cheese because of potential exposure.
Listeria is a bacteria that can cause fever and diarrhea, and more dangerous complications in pregnant women, including miscarriages and stillbirths.
