Laura Chenel's Chèvre Announces Kosher Certification

Sonoma, CA. –  Beginning this month, several varieties of Laura Chenel’s Chévre will be certified Kosher under the supervision of the Orthodox Rabbinical Council of San Francisco.  The company’s new Sonoma creamery has met processing and packing procedures in compliance with Jewish Dairy laws. The first cheeses to carry the kosher designation will be the award-winning fresh Log, Chabis, Chef’s Chèvre and Cabecou.

For a dairy product to be considered kosher the facility is inspected by a rabbi. Inspection covers all ingredients, production methods, cleaning products and storage practices. The rabbi’s periodic visits confirm that production methods continue to follow kosher guidelines.

New labels carrying the symbol of the San Francisco Rabbinical Council will start appearing on retail shelves in June.

Located in Sonoma, California, Laura Chenel’s Chèvre upholds a long tradition of European style artisan cheesemaking.
