The Flower Council of Holland has developed a very handy calendar of all the various special days in 27 different countries of sale in the year 2014. The handy reference list can easily be used by entrepreneurial florists and flower traders to optimize their marketing efforts and create special mini campaigns to help spur sales!
The elaborate calendar covers virtually all European countries as well as the United States. For each country, and for each month, it lists a wide range of special occasions which can conceivably be used to inspire thematic floral arrangements or to create targeted marketing material that helps stimulate buyers.
Every florist is well aware of the importance of Valentine’s Day, Easter and Mother’s Day when it comes to their business, for example. But why not incorporate some special designs for Grandparent’s Day (September 7 in the U.S.) or Veteran’s Day (November 11), or – provided you’re active in Germany – let consumers know that March 3 is ‘Rose Monday’ or that September 25 is ‘Thank you Day’?
