Not Everything Coming Up Roses With E-Florist Orders

The stories, as told to consumer website Angie’s List, might be funny if they weren’t so frustratingly annoying.

One consumer from Philadelphia said she ordered flowers online for her aunt, who was celebrating a Jewish holiday. The florist sent an Easter basket by mistake.

Another reader from Chicago ordered a dozen roses in winter. They arrived frozen stiff. When he re-ordered, the roses were delivered thawed, but four blooms were missing.

The tales of floral woe are not isolated incidents. Angie Hicks, founder of Angie’s List, said that in 2010, complaints about florists comprised the tenth most reported category among all the industries the company reviews.
