Star Roses & Plants/Conard-Pyle Announces 2014 Rose Introductions

West Grove, PA — A multiple European award-winner, a new addition to the Eyeconic® series, and the latest offering from the creator of the Knock Out® Rose are among the 2014 introductions from Star® Roses and Plants/Conard-Pyle.

Dee-Lish®, a tall hybrid tea rose, features an old-fashioned flower and a very strong fragrance of verbena and citrus. It has a large, deep pink non-fading bloom, and it makes for an excellent cut flower. It is a multiple award winner in Europe for disease resistance and aesthetics and one of the first hybrid tea roses to win the prestigious ADR contest in Germany.

BougainFeelYa is the newest edition to the Look-A-Likes® series of roses with untraditional blooms. Its flowers are dark red, non-fading and shaped similar to that of a Bougainvillea. Flowers form continuously throughout the season. BougainFeelYa performs well on its own roots and is tolerant to a range of soil pH. It is also very resistant to rust and mildews, and has a decent tolerance for black spot.

Fired Up™ is hard to miss in the garden. Its yellow and bright orange striped blooms finish blood orange. The color does not fade in the heat or when finishing and it reblooms well. It has very good tolerance to rust and mildews. Fired Up™ is best recommended for the dry climates of the West.

Mercury Rising™ is a seedling of the popular hybrid tea rose, Gemini. It has similar coloration and a great exhibition type flower, but it is much more vigorous with glossier foliage. It is a perfect flower for cutting.

Eyeconic® Lychee Lemonade is a new color edition to the Eyeconic® series. The bloom is ivory cream with a deep burgundy blotch, finishing almost white with a pink blotch. The flower is semi-double. It is an ideal container plant for the West because of its vigorous yet compact habit.

Tahitian Treasure™, bred by Knock Out® Rose creator Bill Radler, represents a breakthrough in breeding. It is one of the first garden roses with all the great attributes of a landscape shrub rose–strong color, good habit, good flowering density, good rebloom, and excellent disease resistance. It is hardy to zone 5.

All of the roses listed will be available to consumers in 2014. For more information, visit www.starrosesandplants.com.
