Sioux City, Ia. — Global Foods Processing Inc. will expand its operation in Sioux City with the construction of a facility on the site of the former John Morrell & Co. meatpacking plant, the company has announced.
The company already has a plant in Sioux City that employs 175 people. The $10 million expansion would add nearly 200 jobs.
Global Foods plans to build a 67,000-square-foot building on 10 acres at the former Morrell site. Construction could begin later this year.
