Bland Farms Chosen As Globe Award Recipient By Governor Deal At 2018 Go Global Reception

GLENNVILLE, GA: On March 20, Governor Nathan Deal presented Bland Farms with the GLOBE Award (Georgia Launching Opportunities By Exporting) in recognition of their outstanding international export business.

The Georgia-led awards program recognizes companies selling their products or services to a new country over the previous year and took place at the Go Global reception at the Atlanta History Center.

“The Go Global event highlights the importance of international partnerships for maintaining our competitive edge and generating new investments across the state,” said Deal. “Georgia businesses offer a diversified variety of exports [. . .] which provide the foundation for long-term growth in the international marketplace.”

Bland Farms’ expansion into the sweet potato export market has been beneficial for the company and for the state of Georgia. “The opportunity to expand our business by exporting sweet potatoes not only helps us, but it takes a Georgia grown product to consumers world wide, benefitting the state of Georgia as well,” said Jeff Bailey, CEO.

Georgia’s export growth was reflected in the number of GLOBE winners this year, a total of 40 after just 24 the previous year. Altogether, these companies exported to 84 new countries or territories.

Bland Farms is proud to be among those businesses promoting Georgia products to an international audience.
