Bruce Taylor Named Western Growers’ Chairman Of The Board At 88th Annual Meeting In Hawaii

At its 88th Annual Meeting Monday, the Western Growers Board of Directors installed Bruce C. Taylor, chairman and CEO of Taylor Farms California as the new chairman of the organization.  Taylor will take over volunteer leadership responsibilities from outgoing Chairman Steve Barnard, president and CEO of Mission Produce, Inc. Taylor will assume his duties as chairman at the close of this week’s annual meeting.

Bruce Taylor is a third-generation produce grower-marketer in the Salinas Valley.  After attending the University of California at Berkeley and Harvard Business School, he joined the family business and led the development of Fresh Express.  In 1995, Bruce and several partners founded Taylor Farms, and have since expanded this national fresh salad leader to nine manufacturing facilities in North America.  He is the past chairman of the Produce Marketing Association and past chairman of the board of the National Steinbeck Center in Salinas.  Bruce was elected to the Western Growers board in 1999.
