LOS ANGELES – The Giumarra Companies is pleased to announce the promotions of Tom Richardson and Bruce Dowhan to its executive staff. Mr. Richardson will serve as Vice President Global Development, and Mr. Dowhan will serve as Vice President and General Manager of Giumarra Agricom and Giumarra Borquez.
Mr. Richardson began working for Giumarra in 1997, and relocated to Wenatchee, Wash. in 1999 to open and manage the Giumarra Wenatchee sales office. He will now be based in Giumarra’s head office in Los Angeles and will lead the company’s international expansion efforts.
“Tom will assume the lead role for all of our global marketing,” says John Corsaro, Executive Vice President of the Giumarra Companies. “Specifically, he will focus on South America and Asia as we look to continue growing our business in these markets.”
Mr. Dowhan also joined Giumarra in 1997. He became General Manager of the Giumarra Escondido division in 2005. As Vice President, he will continue to manage Giumarra’s asparagus and avocado partnerships while also taking on an increasingly larger role in strategic planning.
“Bruce has done a superb job managing our 12-month avocado and asparagus programs. His leadership within our company and the industry as a whole will continue to be invaluable as we position ourselves in the global market,” says Mr. Corsaro.
Mr. Dowhan also serves as a director on the Chilean Avocado Importers Association’s board of directors and Vice Chair for the Peruvian Avocado Commission’s board of directors.
