SureHarvest Announces Newest Member Of The Professional Services Team

Soquel, CA – SureHarvest has announced the addition of Melanie Beretti to the company’s Professional Services Team. “Melanie’s professional experience brings to SureHarvest a unique perspective and background to help us integrate sustainability principles within the agricultural business systems of our clients. She has extensive experience working one-on-one with growers as well as with multi-stakeholder initiatives to address complex resource management issues. Her experience spans a diverse cross-section of agribusiness, including organic and conventional systems, vegetable and permanent crops, and producers as well as packer/shippers. We at SureHarvest welcome Melanie to our Professional Services team and look forward to her important contributions for years to come”, announced Cliff Ohmart, SureHarvest’s Vice President of Professional Services.

Ms. Beretti’s has been involved with the Central Coast agricultural community for over 15 years working on market-based initiatives involving important issues such as food safety, pesticide use, biotechnology, land use, water quality, and conservation.

Ms. Beretti’s most recent work was with the Monterey County Agriculture Commissioner’s Office developing and implementing innovative projects to improve efficiency and accessibility of County-wide services for farmers and ranchers. From 2000 – 2009 Ms. Beretti worked for the Resource Conservation District of Monterey County where she was initially Project Manager providing outreach and technical assistance in English and Spanish to farmers, ranchers and landowners on implementing conservation practices. Later in her tenure she was Program Manager in charge of all District field operations. Melanie also served as Executive Director of the RCD for two years. In her ‘spare’ time, Melanie served as founding member of the Agriculture Water Quality Alliance, which was the recipient of the 2005 Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award.

Ms. Beretti received her B.S. in Forest Resources from the University of Washington, Seattle and her M.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
