T.M. Kovacevich – Philadelphia, Inc ( www.TMKProduce.com ) operates a wholesale produce distribution company out of the ultra-modern Philadelphia Wholesale Produce market (www.PWPM.net). TMK presently sells a very wide selection of premium fruits and vegetables to retail and food service accounts located primarily from Virginia north to New York. This category manager position for organics is a new position with the company. The individual chosen to lead this this new department will be expected to build the organic business with both our present customer base as well as develop new customers.
Responsibilities & Duties:
* Receive requests for quotations, orders, and lead times from customers
* Make quotations on standard products, write orders, and relay pertinent order information to customers
* Coordinate with other departments in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers
* Achieve and maintain rapport with clients and suppliers
* Procure organic line and manage inventory levels
Requirements:
* Strong customer service and marketing skills
* Sound knowledge of proven sales processes
* A thorough understanding of produce market conditions
* A proven track record in sourcing organic line
Qualifications:
* Experience in buying and selling organics with established customer base a plus
* Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple urgent tasks
* Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, interpersonal
* A positive, professional attitude with the ability to take initiative on processes outside of the defined job scope, including motivation to research and provide proactive solutions to management
* Second language and a degree are assets Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions and solve problems
Education:
* 4-year degree is preferred but not required
Skills:
* Demonstrated skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously
* Ability to work under deadline pressure
* Display a high level of effort and commitment toward performing work, with an emphasis on attention to detail
* Ability to form good working relationships with team members
* Ability to plan your work, set priorities and determine resource requirements necessary to complete tasks
