BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — Bruno's Supermarket is officially a memory in metro Birmingham.
The new owner of the former Birmingham-based grocery chain's surviving stores kicked off a rebranding campaign which will convert all of its locations to the Belle Foods banner.
The first store to be converted was the Bruno's at U.S. 31 and Lorna Road in Hoover, where Belle Foods officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning.
It was the only remaining Bruno's in metro Birmingham, although some remained elsewhere, following the chain's 2009 bankruptcy and a previous rebranding by former owner Southern Family Markets.
