KLM Working With Leading Dutch Chef Richard van Oostenbrugge

NEW YORK, N.Y. – KLM will be serving meals by leading Dutch chef Richard van Oostenbrugge on World Business Class flights out of Amsterdam between October 26, 2014 and January 22, 2015.

“KLM is delighted to be working with leading chef Richard van Oostenbrugge. He will fit in perfectly at KLM. Like KLM, he is Dutch with international allure. Richard has developed a wonderful menu for our WBC passengers,” says EVP Inflight Services, Paul Elich.

Richard van Oostenbrugge began his career in Gstaad, Switzerland and is praised for his command of precise French techniques. At the end of 2011, van Oostenbrugge started on a new adventure in Amsterdam at the luxury five-star hotel De L’Europe as Executive Chef of the restaurant Bord’Eau. This year, Richard was named Chef of the Year by Gault Millau. Richard’s style can be best described as “creative cooking with the finest ingredients.”

“I am truly honored to be involved in this exceptional partnership. My Sous Chef Thomas Groot and I have developed a menu that literally elevates to new heights the unique dishes of Bord’Eau. Working with the team at KLM, we will provide a fabulous, worldwide culinary experience,” says Richard van Oostebrugge.

For many years, KLM has offered its World Business Class passengers menus created by leading Dutch chefs. KLM continues to invest in its onboard service by working with top chefs and sommeliers. Past menus have been designed by Sergio Herman, Richard Ekkebus, Jonnie Boer and Mario Ridder.
