Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is bringing its chain of smaller-format grocery stores to Southern California, including two stores in the Inland region.
Walmart Neighborhood Markets have been around since 1998, but they have not yet been introduced in Riverside or San Bernardino counties. There are about 200 in operation around the country.
The stores resemble conventional grocery stores in size and layout and offer a traditional selection of produce, dairy, frozen foods, household, pet, and health and beauty supplies, pharmacy services and other grocery store goods, sold at prices on par with merchandise in large-format Walmart stores.
