Restauranteur Testifies On Oil’s Impact

New Orleans – Tourism and Louisiana Seafood are the driving forces of New Orleans economy. New Orleans Restaurant owner Ralph Brennan today told the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee that both those key sectors face a potentially devastating future because of the Oil disaster.

He cited his first hand experiences and those facing many others on the front line.

"Regarding my three New Orleans restaurants, sales are down, accounts are down and costs are up. This is not a sustainable business model."

He gave them a wider view too of the impact adding, "convention groups and travelers are calling to express concerns about upcoming business and whether to book future business. Many are asking if there is Oil on the door steps in New Orleans and New Orleans is miles inland."
