Trident Seafoods to Sell 4 Alaska Processing Plants

Trident Seafoods, one of the biggest seafood processors in the country, announced Tuesday that it’s selling a third of its Alaska plants. Four of Trident’s processing plants in Alaska are now for sale – in Kodiak, Ketchikan, Petersburg, and False Pass.

Trident Seafoods announced today that the company has reevaluated its 2024 plans to begin construction of a new processing plant in Unalaska, Alaska. The decision will delay breaking ground on the new plant until 2025. With a projected three-year build plan, the new timeline means the plant would be operational no sooner than 2028.

The first King Salmon from Copper River, weighing 34 pounds, landed in Seattle on an Alaska Airlines flight direct from the pristine waters of Alaska, marking the beginning of what industry leaders expect to be an above-average run for the some of the most delectable salmon in the world.
