Jim Spatola & Jeff Williamson Named To Performance Food Group Executive Team

RICHMOND, Va. — Performance Food Group, Inc. (PFG) today announced that Jim Spatola has been named Senior Vice President of Procurement and Jeff Williamson has been named Senior Vice President of Operations, effective immediately. Both positions are new and report directly to George Holm, President & CEO of PFG.

In his new role, Spatola will oversee procurement for the company with an initial emphasis on improving processes to better serve customers while enhancing PFG’s competitive position and profitability.

Spatola joined Vistar Corporation, a current division and predecessor company of PFG, in 2005 as President and CEO of Vistar’s Roma business in Hartford, Conn. In 2008 he was promoted to his most recent position as Senior Vice President of Procurement for Performance Foodservice, a division of PFG. In that role he was responsible for procurement, category management and the food safety initiatives of Performance Foodservice.

Prior to joining PFG, Spatola spent much of his career at ARAMARK. He held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in sales and distribution there before being named Vice President of Distribution for North America. Spatola first entered the foodservice business as a commissioned salesperson for Spatola-Thompson, a grocery and frozen food distributor operated in Philadelphia by his family for almost 100 years.

Spatola earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Villanova University.

In his new role, Williamson will oversee PFG’s facilities, construction, inbound logistics, outbound transportation and warehouse functions. He will work closely with operations leaders in PFG divisions to drive and sustain operational excellence throughout the company.

Williamson joined PFG in 2003 as Director of Warehouse Methods and Industrial Engineering. He was promoted to Vice President of Warehouse Operations before being named Senior Vice President of Operations for Performance Foodservice in 2008, his most recent position.

Prior to joining PFG, Williamson served as Senior Manager, Distribution Systems & Process for US Foods from 1996 to 2003. He previously held industrial engineering positions with McClier, an architectural/engineering firm, and Standard Register.

Williamson earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois.
