Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is building a massive e-commerce center near the Atlanta airport.
The project, known in real estate development circles for weeks, is expected to be announced by Gov. Nathan Deal’s office as early as tomorrow.
Wal-Mart would initially occupy a roughly 1.2-million square-foot building now under construction in Union City, Ga. about six miles from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Wal-Mart declined comment. The developer of the project, Majestic Realty Co., also did not comment. Construction broke ground in recent weeks. Wal-Mart may also eventually have additional room to expand.
