Sheboygan County's Sartori Co. Artisan Cheese Earns World Rankings

Earlier this month, Sartori Co. announced that its limited edition Cognac BellaVitano was named the top U.S. cheese and third-best cheese in the world among 2,500 entries at the World Cheese Awards in England, marking the highest finish ever for a U.S. cheese in that competition. The award is one of more than 100 that the company has received since introducing its own line of retail cheeses after purchasing the Antigo Cheese Co. in 2006.

Sara Lee Plans To Expand St. Joseph Meat Processing Plant, Add 55 Jobs

Sara Lee Corp. plans to construct a $3 million addition to its St. Joseph meat-processing plant that will create up to 55 new jobs. Information filed with the city of St. Joseph confirmed the project, although the corporation has declined to formally announce its intentions. A building permit filed with the city said that Miron Construction Co. of Neenah, Wis., will be the contractor for the 29,000-square-foot addition.
