Miami Beach, FL. – Romantic Love is the theme for the 5th edition of a heated, fast paced floral design competition, set to take the stage Wednesday, June 21, 2012 at 5pm, at the International Floriculture Expo (IFE) in Miami Beach, FL. IFE’s Iron Designer Competition features seven floral designers from around the globe. Designers are challenged to use mystery items to create unique, trendy and innovative floral designs in a 20 minute competition on stage in front of the floral trade industry’s high volume mass market buyers, merchandisers, designers, independently owned retail florists, growers, and suppliers.
The heat is on and bragging rights are at stake, as co-hosts Pieter Landman (Owner, Blooming Vision BV, Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Jacob McCall (CFD, FSMD, and two-time Iron Designer winner) engage the audience and judges as the designers compete for the 2012 Iron Designer title..
Seven designers from the US and Holland will be in the spotlight for this year’s competition.

Accredited designers from AIFD, American Institute of Floral Designers, based in Baltimore, MD, will be on hand to judge and determine the talented winner. Flowers for the 2012 Iron Designer Competition will be supplied by Ball SB (Miami, FL; www.ballsb.com); containers will be supplied by Pots Company/Giftwares Co. (Miami, FL; www.potscompany.com); greenery will be supplied by The Sun Valley Group (Arcata, CA; www.sunvalleyfloral.com); and floral foam supplied by Floralife (Walterboro, SC; www.floralife.com). All suppliers are exhibiting at the 2012 event.
