Stew Leonard’s CEO May Give Up Dream Of Orange Store

Orange, Conn. – A Shelton developer has his eyes on some land in Orange that was once supposed to be the site of a Stew Leonard's dairy store.

The land is a 44-acre plot on Marsh Hill Road, off of Exit 91 on I-95.

For more than a decade Stew Leonard has been growing corn on the parcel, but now a developer is showing a growing interest in buying the land.

For Stew Leonard Jr. it's like breaking up with your first love. While it makes good business sense to sell the land as he never got the go-ahead to build one of his famous dairy stores, it's hard to let a dream die.
