BOISE, Idaho — WinCo Foods, LLC announced today that it will open its newest discount supermarket at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2011. The 94,900 square foot Lakewood, California store is located at 3400 East South Street and will open employing approximately 200 individuals.
An employee owned company, WinCo Foods is best known for being the supermarket low price leader in each community it serves. Store Manager, Feather Cox, is a 15 year veteran of the company and transfers to Lakewood from the WinCo Foods store in Indio, California. Her assistant managers are Justin Lee and Brandon Rodgers who transfer from Apple Valley and Fontana, California respectively. The new management team is very excited about the opportunity to serve the Lakewood community.
In addition to features customers expect in a WinCo Foods store, like the wall of values, extensive bulk foods department, and quality produce, meat, seafood, deli and bakery departments; the store utilizes a number of "green" technologies which create real energy efficiencies and save between 5% and 25% on refrigeration, heating, cooling and lighting the store and the product cases. These innovations reduce the store's carbon footprint and reduce the potential for ozone depletion from refrigerants.
