For National Diabetes Month this November, the Hass Avocado Board (HAB) is joining forces with  AltaMed Health Services, the nation’s largest independent federally qualified community health center, to improve nutritional education and access to glucose testing for the early detection and possible prevention of type 2 diabetes, a condition that impairs the body’s ability to regulate sugar. The campaign will leverage Aguacates Frescos – Saborea Uno Hoy® educational tools, recipes and website, building awareness for HAB’s science-based resources developed especially for Hispanic families.

Avocado Study Reveals New Shopper Segment Driving Bagged Avocado Sales

Bagged avocados are finding their way into the grocery baskets of U.S. avocado shoppers as bags now make up more than a quarter of all avocado purchases. A recent study by the Hass Avocado Board (HAB), available for free download on, revealed that purchases of bagged avocados have increased at three times the rate of bulk over a four-year period (2016-2019) as shoppers continued to add bags to their grocery basket.
