Gruyere from Switzerland Named 2020 World Champion

A Gruyere from Bern, Switzerland has been named the 2020 World Champion Cheese. The cheese, called Gourmino Le Gruyère AOP, is made by Michael Spycher of Mountain Dairy Fritzenhaus for Gourmino AG. Spycher also won the 2008 World Championship Cheese Contest with his Gruyere.

World Championship Cheese Contest in Madison is Underway

The largest technical cheese, butter and yogurt competition in the world started Tuesday in Wisconsin, with a record 3,667 entries from 26 nations.

World Championship Cheese Contest Breaks All-Time Entry Record

World Championship Cheese Contest organizers today announced a record-breaking 3,667 entries in the 2020 competition, set for March 3-5 at the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison, Wisconsin. Overall participation is up hundreds from 2018, when the biennial Contest was last held.

World Championship Cheese Contest Entry Deadline January 31

Records will be broken as the January 31 entry deadline for the World Championship Cheese Contest approaches. Entries can be submitted now online at WorldChampionCheese.org.
