Fleuroselect: 2019 is the Year of the Nasturtium and Carrot

2019 is the Year of the Nasturtium and Carrot, an international marketing campaign organised by the Home Gardening business unit of Fleuroselect. This campaigns aims at boosting the sale of Nasturtium and Carrot seeds and plants to end consumers.

Companies active in home gardening can increase their seed and plant sale by making the ‘2019, Year of the Nasturtium and Carrot’ campaign part of their marketing plans.

Ready-made marketing materials and inspirational photography is available to be integrated in the promotional activities of breeders, distributors and retailers. The artwork can be downloaded on our website. Participants can add their company logo or other info to professionally designed files and create their personalised banner, label or seed packet in no time.

Rolf Pohlen, Category Manager Gärtner Pötschke: “Plant of the Year is an interesting initiative which attracts the attention of the industry and general public to a certain species every year. For 2019, we have ordered higher quantities of Nasturtium seed with our breeders and have integrated some of the promotional material into our company’s marketing mix.”

Displays in high level parks

In 2019, extensive Nasturtium displays will be planted in high level public parks in order to show the diversity of this species to the end consumer. No less than 85 varieties have been collected from Fleuroselect members and dispatched to our partner gardens.

Displays are foreseen at RHS. Harlow Carr and Hyde Hall in the U.K., at the Egapark in Erfurt and the Island of Mainau in Germany and at Jardin des Plantes in Paris, France.

2020, Year of the Rudbeckia

In 2020, promotional acitivities will be organised around Rudbeckia. Companies active in Rudbeckia are invited to integrate this campaign into their marketing plans.
