SHOP 'n SAVE Offers Free Turkeys For Thanksgiving
Posted: Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 3:30PM EDT

PITTSBURGH , Pa. -- SHOP 'n SAVE announced that customers who use their Perks card to purchase $300 or more in groceries between October 7 and November 10 can receive a free turkey just in time for Thanksgiving.

Now shoppers will have even more ways to save big for the holidays with SHOP 'n SAVE's Turkey Promotion. By spending $300 during the five-week period, customers who use their Perks card will receive a certificate for a free Honeysuckle, Grade-A Frozen Turkey of up to 14 pounds. If a customer spends a total of $450 during the five-week period, they are eligible to receive a free turkey up to 22 pounds.

“SHOP 'n SAVE stores are always looking for ways to provide the best value in the products they sell and the services they provide,” said Bill Lipsky, area sales director for SUPERVALU, which supplies the independently owned and operated SHOP 'n SAVE stores. “For customers to receive free turkeys just by doing what they already do is an added savings.”

This year's free turkey promotion is another example of SHOP 'n SAVE Your Perks, Your Way program. Customers will be able to track their progress towards their free turkey with their Perks card online at, or on their mobile phone through SHOP 'n SAVE's new Mobile Club by texting “Turkey” to 467467.
