WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Bakers Association (ABA) is pleased to introduce retail insights thought leader Todd Hale to the 2017 ABA Technical Conference as a General Session presenter.

In his first appearance at the annual Technical Conference, the former Nielsen Senior Vice President of Consumer and Shopper Insights will provide his hallmark overview of the current retail landscape and performance. Projecting areas of growth for the future, Hale will specifically focus on cookie and cracker categories. He will uncover trends on successful products and concepts, buyers and their purchasing habits, health and wellness’s impact on sales, digital shopping and digital retailing, and automation.

“The insights that Todd Hale will offer in his presentation are exclusive to Technical Conference attendees – it can’t be found anywhere else,” said Senior Advisor to the President & CEO: B&CMA Transition & Development Dave Van Laar. “We are excited to offer Technical Conference participants Todd Hale’s extremely comprehensive cookie and cracker industry data on how to leverage trends for future success.”

“From all his data that I have seen over the years, I am confident that the audience of the Technical Conference will gain new and enlightening takeaways from his vast report on the baking industry with a targeted cookie and cracker emphasis,” said ABA President & CEO Robb MacKie. “Todd Hale is a friend of the industry and one of ABA’s most valued resources for baking category insight on growth drivers.”

Hale holds nearly 40 years of experience in the consumer research industry, including 30 years with Nielsen, where he held various marketing and sales management positions within advertising/product testing, advanced analytics and consumer panel practice areas. He is a frequently sought-after industry and client speaker. He shares his insights on consumer shopping, as well as buying and media consumption behaviors and attitudes to provide manufacturers and retailers with strategic visions to facilitate brand, category and retail sales growth.
